COMPANY

NimbleRx is a healthcare technology platform that connects patients with local and independent pharmacies across the US. Patients use the Nimble app and web experience to fill prescriptions, order delivery or pickup, message their pharmacy, and manage their medications, while pharmacies get a dashboard to manage orders and patient communication. The platform serves millions of patients and thousands of pharmacies, sitting at the intersection of e-commerce convenience and everyday healthcare. NimbleRx was acquired by Swoop in May, 2026.

CHALLENGE

Patients come to Nimble to fill prescriptions, but rarely return between refills

Nimble helps patients order prescriptions, check out, and request refills. But most patients only return when they need another prescription, making it hard to grow daily engagement and retention. Our goal was to change that: Bring inactive patients back, increase daily active users, and give patients a reason to return between refills.

MY ROLE

Reimagining Nimble App: from one-time transactions to daily engagement

I led the 0-1 design of dose and symptom logging to help patients stay engaged between prescription orders. The goal was to connect the full journey, and turn one-time visits into everyday engagement.

RESEARCH

Patients want to understand their health progress, but struggle to track and recall changes over time

PROBLEM & SOLUTION

Introduce logging step by step

Daily logging feels like extra work

Tracking daily habits is not an innovative opportunity. However, tracking medications and symptoms every day can feel like a chore. How can logging fit naturally into patients' daily routines?

Progressive disclosure: One step at a time

Surface value more upfront

New patients don't have enough history to see useful patterns and trends. Without a clear benefit, why would they keep logging?

Show early progress, celebrate small wins, and give users a reason to return

From logs to insights

As patients collect more dose and symptom logs, it becomes harder to see what matters. They want to know: "Is my medication actually helping?" They also need a simple way to review and share their history with their doctor.

Browse daily records in a smooth, diary-like timeline to easily find past details and prepare for doctor appointments

REFLECTION

Leverage AI to move fast and let data guide

Use AI tools to explore ideas, build prototypes, and test solutions faster—turning design decisions into real experiences with less time and effort. Test with real users, learn from the data, and keep improving through multiple rounds of iteration.

From 0 to 1 is just the beginning

Launching a feature is only the first step. The bigger challenge is turning early adoption into lasting habits and long-term growth. Users don't want another task. Keep interactions simple, show value early, and help users build habits.
